People believe that poverty is only found in third world countries. However, this is not the case. Poverty is everywhere. Even in our own backyard. Let’s face it, the cost of family living is very high today. Food prices have gone up and with a monthly check we are lucky to have enough money for gas after we have paid the rent and bought groceries.
We are just regular people who care for the needs of others. We know what it is like to struggle and to be without. Many of our volunteers have come from backgrounds of poverty and hunger. Some have suffered from abusive lifestyles and some have lived with the burden of all manner of addictions. We see children everywhere who are malnourished and wear the same clothes every day because that is all they have. Parents are unable to provide all they need to keep their families healthy due to the loss of their jobs and the fact that there is nobody hiring when they need a job. Because of these things many families struggle from day to day and children have little or no stability in their lives.
We are human and we all have needs. But most of us need help from time to time. We believe in caring for people without a price. Helping our neighbor and expecting nothing in return. We welcome all who are in need and we do everything we can to see that those needs are met.
